- Heavyweight solid buckle cast in zamak, a durable zinc alloy. The pin and frame are made as one solid piece rather than plated over a hollow core, which is what gives the buckle its weight in the hand and keeps the edges sharp over years of wear
- Construction
- Built from two pieces bonded face to face and then stitched through, Italian vegan suede (100% polyurethane) on the front over our bio-based vegan leather at the back, which is what gives the strap its thickness and its weight in the hand. Lining the strap through its full width rather than backing it with something thinner is the reason it holds its shape and still bends comfortably around the waist. The edges are skived down before they're closed, so the strap tapers at the sides rather than sitting square, and the strap and keeper are double-stitched along their length. The buckle is solid metal, set on a folded and stitched end.

Brush with a suede brush along the length of the belt to lift the nap and take off surface dust. Marks come out with a suede eraser worked gently over the spot. Keep it out of the rain where you can, since vegan suede darkens when it's wet, and if it does get caught, let it dry naturally away from radiators and direct sun and then brush it back up once it's fully dry. No water, no solvents, no polish. Store it rolled in its cotton dust bag rather than folded or hung, so the nap doesn't take a crease at the fold.
