Our Notes

When you need the protection wellies give you from water, mud, slush, snow and everything else nature throws at you, but want the comfort and versatility of a walking boot, our WVSport Country Boots are the answer.

The fit is slightly wider, with a rounded toe box and a little more height — more room to move your toes and to fit a thick walking sock. And they sit snugly but comfortably on the lower calf thanks to a soft, stretchy knitted back panel that doesn't dig in or rub, with a full inside zip so they slip on and off easily.

The Vibram® rubber injection outsoles are built with grip, traction, braking and stability zones and an open tread — so when it's really muddy they won't clog up, and they're easy to hose or scrape down at the end of a long walk. You can put them through their paces and depend on them: the sole is direct-injected onto the upper in one sealed piece so the two won't part, and the uppers are abrasion- and scuff-resistant Lyliane® 3DMX vegan nubuck with Cordura® panels. The construction is lab-tested highly water-resistant and will keep your feet dry in most situations — though you shouldn't wear them in running water, deep puddles or deep snow for extended periods.

Where they really come into their own is all-day comfort. The outsoles aren't heavy and have a nice flex, so they're a world away from a stiff pair of wellies — more like wearing sturdy trainers you can walk long distances in. Your feet sit on removable cushioned anatomic insoles, and the patented comfort Support System steadies the ankle mile after mile.

Off the trail they're easy too — with tucked jeans or walking trousers and a waxed jacket, cords and a heavy knit, or a chore coat for a wet dog walk. The boot for the days that go from a muddy field to the shops without a change of shoes.

Ethics & Origin

This product is certified carbon-neutral and ethically made in Italy under EU employment, discrimination and health & safety law. It's vegan from the uppers and linings to the glue. It's delivered to you through our carbon-neutral supply chain in plastic-free paper and cardboard packaging.

Upper: Lyliane® 3DMX vegan nubuck by Lorenzi, Italy, with Cordura® fabric panels (100% PU / 100% nylon) – abrasion and scuff-resistant, PFC and PFA free, built for off-road wear
Lining: Breathable sports mesh lining in 100% polyester – an open mesh that keeps air moving to help feet stay cool and fresh
Insole: Removable contoured PU sports insole – shaped to follow your foot for cushioned, supportive comfort
Outsole: Vibram® direct-injected PU midsole with a rubber tread layer – lightweight cushioning with grip and durability where it meets the ground

Construction & Features

Shank: No shank – the cushioned midsole does the supporting, keeping the boot stable underfoot without the weight
Hardware: A full top-to-bottom zip on the inside of each boot, so they slip on and off easily
Construction: Direct-injected sole – the sole is moulded and fused straight onto the upper in one process, a technique used in performance and sports footwear. It creates a strong, fully sealed bond with no glue line for water to work into, keeping the build light, durable and ready for hard use
Water Resistance: Highly water-resistant and PFC/PFA free – lab-tested water-resistant construction keeps your feet dry through rain, slush and snow in most autumn and winter conditions. Not waterproof, so not suitable for full submersion, prolonged periods in deep snow, or extended walking through long wet grass.

Care Guide

Clean: Wipe the uppers and outsoles with warm soapy water and a cloth or soft brush, then towel dry thoroughly. Polish: A synthetic polish can be used to bring back shine and refresh the colour — any synthetic product should work fine, applied as described in its instructions. If your footwear has a burnished effect on the toes and sides (we apply a darker polish to some of our brown vegan leather uppers for effect), this is best reapplied by a cobbler, or at home using a darker shade of polish worked around the toes and sides. Drying: You can dry your footwear on top of or near a radiator or other heat source. Depending on the heat, it can take a few days to dry out the insides fully. Never put your footwear in the washing machine. Deodorising: Don't let your footwear stay damp between wears, especially inside boots, as this can damage the water resistance and let microbes develop, causing a smell. If this happens, dry the footwear thoroughly and use a footwear deodoriser until the smell stops. In extreme cases, wash the insides out with warm soapy water, then dry fully and reapply the deodoriser. Waterproofing (optional): You can treat the uppers with a waterproofing spray to improve durability, stain resistance and water resistance. We recommend doing this every 2–3 months depending on use — most standard waterproofing sprays work fine on our vegan leather.

We've made this chart to help you choose the right size. You'll need your foot length measurement to get started. Once you've found your perfect fit with us, you can typically select the same size for all other models.

Fit and comfort notes:

Width and volume: our footwear is designed with a slightly wider D width fitting, offering more width and volume than most brands.
Materials: we use high quality vegan leather and suede. These materials are stable and won't stretch out significantly over time, so we recommend sizing up for comfort.
The perfect fit: you don't want the shoes to pinch your feet. You should have wiggle room for your toes and no rub points.
Feel: in most cases you'll find our footwear is comfy straight out of the box. Depending on the style or your foot shape, it can sometimes take a few wears for the uppers to soften and mould to your feet.

Stand on a hard surface with your heel against a wall.
Measure your foot from the heel (the wall) to the longest point of your toes.
Use this number to find your size in the chart above.

It is helpful to measure both feet, as one foot is often slightly larger than the other. Always choose the size that accommodates your longest foot.
