Waterproof Chelsea Boots

The Waterproof Chelsea is the one built to keep you dry, properly. Where most boots resist a bit of rain, this has a genuine waterproof construction — a PFC-free waterproof membrane sealed inside, working with a treated, breathable onMicro® waterproof upper, so water stays out while your feet still breathe. The sole is direct-injected — moulded and bonded straight onto the upper in one sealed piece, with no stitched seams for water to creep through — which is what makes the waterproofing last rather than fade after a few wet weeks.

Since it launched in 2018 people have put these through exactly what they're made for: country walks and muddy paths, dog walks through wet grass, puddles and stream edges, and rainy commutes across town. The fit is regular in width and volume with a rounded toe, roomy and comfortable enough for walking real distances, and it slips on the easy Chelsea way with elasticated gussets and a pull tab. It comes in a classic black and a warm dark brown.

That mix of waterproof and smart is what makes them so easy to live in. They're clean enough for the office under tailored trousers or with straight-leg jeans and a knit, then the same boots you pull on for the school run, the dog walk across a wet field, or an easy trail at the weekend — jeans tucked in, a waterproof coat, thick socks. It's the boot that handles the commute in the rain and the muddy path after it without a change of shoes.

Underneath, a thick, hard-wearing rubber outsole gives durable grip and traction on wet ground, over a dual-density sole that's firmer below for support and softer up top for comfort. Inside, a contoured, removable memory-foam insole shapes to your foot, with a soft Portuguese vegan suede lining — comfort enough to keep them on from the morning dog walk right through the day.
